What a wonderful weekend we had! Grandmaster Wu came for two days of workshops, bringing with him his disciple Evonne Tan from Toronto, as well as his wife Simo Winne and her sister, Jenny. As soon as they arrived at the Academy, we got right to work. At Sifu's request, the Grandmaster went over the 108 standard form with us, piece by piece. He upgraded our forms, liberally giving out corrections to each of us. With over twenty students in attendance—from a number of Sifu's different classes—this was quite a feat!

After three and a half hours' work, we were ready for dinner. Many of us gathered at the Creekside Bar and Grill, joined by family members, for a good dinner enlivened by lots of conversation and laughter.

The next day, after the disciples' class, we reconvened. Sunday's agenda began with some new 24 Forms (chi gong meditations). We all learned some brand new things! After that, we worked on parts of the 54 Form, backwards walking and single-handed push hands. Again, the Grandmaster was generous in giving each of us upgrades to forms and techniques.

He was pleased—as usual—with our training and praised Sifu Genie for teaching us so well. We are grateful to him for coming to our school and working with us each year, as we are to Sifu for her ongoing concern with our tai chi practice.

Thanks to Ellen, Ethan, Paul and Yolanda for the photographs.
