Chinese New Year 2015

Busy, Busy! We began by cleaning the Academy to get rid of all the bad luck accumulated in the past year. Then we set up a Table of Respect to honor The Ancestors.

On Thursday, February 19, which was actually New Year's Day, five of us, led by Sije Ellen and following up on an invitation from  a University of Michigan organization known as Miscellania, presented a Tai Chi demonstration at the Michigan League.

Saturday, Feburary 21, four students from the Academy traveled to Everyday Restaurant in East Lansing. We enjoyed a Dim Sum buffet and the Lion Dance performed by Chung's School Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Always good to see Sifu Chung and Yolanda Quintero.

Finally, on Sunday, February 22, more than fifty students from the various training locations, friends and family members joined Sifu Genie at Asia City Restaurant in Ann Arbor. It was a pleasure to meet new people, get reacquainted with others, and enjoy an abundance of good food, all under the protection of the Phoenix and the Dragon. Thanks to everyone for being with us, and as Sifu G. says, Gung Hey Fat Choi!
