New sessions begin approximately every 8 weeks. Our next session begins January 4, 2021.
Do I need special clothes or footwear?
Nothing special is required. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. We ask that shorts or pants be at or below the knee, and tops have short or long sleeves but no tank tops. A few times a year, we take orders for shirts and sweatshirts with our logo that may be purchased as an option.
Shoes should have low or no heels such as sneakers, running shoes or moccasins. You may also wear socks or train in bare feet. You can also consider purchasing martial arts or tai chi training shoes but that is not required.
When and how do I pay for classes?
You may pay at the start of each session, or by the month.
If you need to miss a class, we will do our best to work with you to arrange a make-up class.
You may pay via check or PayPal. (We do not accept credit cards at this time.)
Mail checks to: Wu's Tai Chi Chuan Academy-Ann Arbor, 23636 Michigan Avenue, Suite 638, Dearborn, MI 48124.
Make PayPal payments online at paypal.com; locate us by our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who are the instructors?
Our main teacher, Sifu Genie Parker, is Chief Instructor-Midwest. All assistant instructors are certified to teach by Grandmaster Sifu Eddie Wu Kwong Yu, International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation. We are proud to be a part of the Wu Family's traditions of teaching the next generation of practitioners and instructors.
Tai Chi Chuan looks intriguing but I might take a while to catch on. Is that a problem?
Sifu frequently reminds us that "learning more quickly doesn't make for a better practitioner." We welcome all ages and abilities, and recognize there are many different learning styles. You will learn at your own pace and progress as you are ready. With persistence, you will experience the many health benefits of tai chi chuan.
